The journey to Tawang is the most thrilling experience where you will be traveling through the most scenic roads in India. A journey that is clubbed with some historical factors. We will be passing through the War memorials of Nyukmadong, Jaswantgarh along with the most beautiful Sela pass. This high altitude pass itself will have thousands of stories to tell us. You must see with your own naked us what is described here with the help of these helpless words. As you travel from Guwahati to Tawang you would want to stop at a thousand different places, because each curve, each village, every single landscape will seduce our desire to stay there a bit longer, the freshness of each destination will penetrate our hearts and as you proceed further into the sacred lands of Arunachal you will experience the essence of ancient culture. From here on you will be inhaling the most refreshing air of serene Himalayas.
♦ We will be hitting the famous Bum – La pass at the Indo-China Border. Bum la pass is situated at an elevation of 15200 feet which is only 37 km away from Tawang. Shungaster lake which is also called as Madhuri Lake is a breath-taking lake situated on the way from Bum la pass to Tawang. This lake is considered as the most silent, still and peaceful lake by explorers of all kinds. The wilderness which surrounds this lake can be explored with the permission of the Indian army. A day exploring the valleys of Diraang, a visit to Sela Pass and the enchanting waterfalls of Jung together makes our journey more sweet like a cherry on top of ice cream.

Day 1 - Guwahati to Dirang

Early in the morning we will start from the Guwahati airport and enjoy our drive through the golden fields of Assam. Before we start ascending the hills of Arunachal Pradesh, we will turn towards a newly built road that makes our start a fantastic drive and we will be moving towards even better views. On our way, we will be stopping by the beautiful Gyuto monastery and spend some time exploring. Along the way we will take a break for lunch at a small Tibetan settlement . As the day comes to an end we will arrive at a lovely little town called Dirang, overlooking two mountains and a river flowing in between, this is where we stay for the night.

Day 2 - <b>Exploring Dirang</b>

Dirang is a beautiful valley which lies at an elevation of 5,200 feet above the sea level. On the banks of river Kameng 42km away from Bomdila this small town rests in silent harmony and peace. Dirang serves as the gateway towards Tawang. The most beautiful thing about this small town is, it is famous for its hot water springs. And as you enter you will see lots of apple and cherry orchards filled with fresh fruits ready to harvest. National Yak Research and Breeding Center at Nigmadung and Sheep Breeding Farm is also another thing which attracts riders, photographers and researchers from all around the world to this enchanting valley. Nearby lies the Sangti Valley where Siberian black necked storks visit during winters. Apart from all this we will be visiting Kalachakra Gompa, one of the most sacred places in buddhist tradition. We will also be privileged to visit the National Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports. By evening we will get back to our homestay.
Day 3 -<b>Dirang to Tawang</b>

We start for Tawang today early this morning and en-route Tawang we will stop at Nyukmadung war memorial and pay our respect to the fallen soldiers who lost their lives fighting for our protection. Next, we stop at the mighty Sela pass and soak in the gorgeous views around it. We visit & pay our respect at the Jaswantgarh war memorial and then warm ourselves with piping-hot tea at the army canteen, this will refresh us before we resume our onward journey.
We stop for a small stroll by the lovely Sela lake if time permits and then start for our next stop, the Nuranang waterfall, the sheer grandness of which is sure to make your jaws drop. We reach our lovely Tawang by late evening. After stepping out from the vehicle you will definitely say “what a day!”
Day 4 -<b>Explore Tawang</b>

Today we will be exploring the most spiritually saturated place of Tawang. Early in the morning we will start our journey towards the mighty Tawang monastery. We explore the place together and if everyone is willing we will conduct a group meditation section inside or nearby the monastery. Next is the Urgelling monastery, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama and the Ani Gompa. Travelers will be blessed to get drenched in an ocean of refined and pure energy this day, you will experience it by yourself. The Buddha statue of Tawag is something no traveler wants to miss. Then we will be heading towards the Chakzam village for a short adventure, where you will find a hanging bridge which was handmade 560 years before with iron wires. In the evening, we visit the war memorial and the light and sound show, this will definitely amaze you. After spending some time in the Tawang market, shopping and exploring the native culture we will return to our Hotel.
Day 5 -<b>Tawang to Bum La, Shungaster lake and back</b>

Today we are riding towards the Bum La pass, an adventurous ride filled with serene views on both sides of the road. Bum La pass lies in the indo-china border and is located at an elevation of 16,500 feet above mean sea level. It is a beautiful and breathtaking pass where we will spend a quality amount of time. Make sure that you are wearing balaclava and warm clothes, Bum La pass will be covered in snow. As we proceed back to Tawang we will stop near the most enchanting Sangetsar Lake also known as Madhuri lake. We will also be blessed to see the naked lakes such as Heart lake, P.T Tso etc. By evening we will reach back to Tawang.
Day 6 -<b>Tawang to Bomdila</b>

Night Stay ♦ Bomdila
Today we start our return journey. We will travel down to the Buddhist town of Dirang/Bomdila today, we will be taking the same road that we have taken on our way up the mountains. If we are staying at Bomdila, this time we will stay at a unique and special place for the night instead of staying at the same homestay. By evening, we reach Bomdilla and if available we can stay in the monastery for the night otherwise we will be staying at a lovely Monpa homestay. If we are staying at Dirang, it will probably be the same wonderful Dirang homestay that we have stayed on our way up the hills.
Day 7 <b>Bomdila to Guwahati</b>

Night Stay ♦ Guwahati
We wake up early today so that we can explore the monastery once again, this time we will be privileged enough to witness the group meditation session of the monks. After a healthy breakfast from the monastery, we start our return journey back to Guwahati which marks the end of this wonderful trip.
